You're so sweet. To answer your question - its more boys than girls in China, and now girls and boys are held in equal respect and love, so one cannot just adopt and unwanted girl, as there is no longer a girl that's unwanted.

As for your mother refusing to adopt - adopting generally is a complex process, with alot of formality and red tape involved. It will affect your whole family and the child - and its not just a matter of an extra bedroom! Your mother has her reasons for saying no.

How about sponsoring a foreign exchange student? You could do that each year for then next few years of high school.

Oh honey, get a puppy or a kitten.

Or earn money, too--get a babysitting job. A little baby goes a long way...

Adoption of any flavor is not something to be taken lightly. It's a life altering sitution for everyone involved, most especially the child. I understand wanting a younger sibling, but adoption isn't something that you just talk your parents into.

China adoption is very difficult right now. It is taking so long, that by the time you get there, your papers may no longer be valid, so most agencies aren't even taking applications. The wait, they are saying, is up to, or more than 5 years.

You cannot get a young infant from any country other than within the US. China, usually they are about a year old. It can be easier to adopt a toddler, but often they have health problems.

China is also difficult because of all of the rules they have made as to who can adopt. Here is a website of eligibility. http://www.adoptassoc.com/international/china/china_eligibility/

International adoptions are very expensive. From start to finish, it would cost at least $30,000.

It is possible to adopt a teenager from within the United States, and there are many who are in the foster care system waiting for a home, but what you don't realize is that they aren't going to jump into your home and be your best friend. They have been through a lot and often times have problems that are hard to deal with.

I understand you wish for siblings, but I'm sure your parents have a good reason for not adopting right now. Are you old enough to babysit? That would be a great way for you to spend time playing with kids, plus you could make some money!

yeah theres more girls than guys because guys are more valuable for work bc theyre only allowed one child.
Adoption is very expensive and china is a difficult country to adopt from , they have many rules and regs. to follow and require 2 visit to china to see the child . These 2 visit have to be around 5 or 6 months apart, so theres a lot of time and money that goes into adoption.
babies usually "cost" more than teens or disabled children.

Maybe your mom doesn't want to raise another child, maybe she doesn't want to pay tens of thousands of dollars, maybe she is more intelligent than you and understands that adoption is not for getting her own brat a playmate.

Go make some friends and let your mom make her own choices. In other words, butt out of your mom's life.

China is not difficult to adopt from. It does not cost $30,000 more like 15,000 to 18,000. You don't have to travel twice just 1 trip that lasts about 10 days. The maximum age of adoptablility is 12 so a 13 year old is impossible.

Adoption is much more than giving you a sister. There is money considerations, time, energy, marital status, etc. Adopting a child is not like adding a dog or cat to the family. Your mom has many, many good reasons not to add to your family. Quit being a spoiled brat and grow up.

well im guessing that your mom is saying no to adopting a child because it costs a lot of money. and why would you want to get one from china when there are plenty in america
