If I put a baby up for adoption and chose closed adoption would they ever be able to contact me?

Is there anyway I can put it up for adoption and they never be able to find me?

You can leave your baby at any hospital no questions asked.
They wont know your name so your baby can never find you. |

I found my daughter when she was 29 1/2, once I made the decision it took about 6 weeks and 40.00. Hers was a closed adoption. So yes, you can found and your child can be found too.
They might not ever want to find you and might be happy and secure in their adoption, but you really can't count on it. |

Don't count on it. With DNA testing, genetic tests, and research being perfected it is unlikely that people can remain hidden forever.
I am not sure if this is what you want, or if you just think it is best. The movie "Juno" presented a supposedly closed adoption, but Juno did choose the people. She just chose not to have further contact. And then it just ended, not very realistically.
Some mothers think they will be able to "put this behind them" if they chose a closed adoption. But, giving birth is not something that you can forget. A child born to you, is not to be forgotten. |

Yes. I was told I couldn't search for my son (closed adoption obviously) when he turned 18 but he could search for me. I didn't know the law changed but as it turned out I did find my son without even searching. He searched for me which included finding my family who basically lied to him for years stating they didn't know where I was and didn't tell me they had contact with him and going online. I joined Genes Reunited which is an online site for people tracing their family tree and he had already joined using his original name. So although I found my son he was actually searching. |
