No, you cannot adopt from any country in the world, but many countries have international adoption programs. Some are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Liberia, Haiti, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Colombia, El Salvador, Peru, Brazil, and there are others. Most countries require adoptive parents to be at least 25 years of age and married for usually a minimum of 2 years. Some countries will accept single applicants, but not many. When you adopt a child, this child is yours, you become their parent, and so you do give them a name of your choosing. Many adoptive parents decide to keep their child's foreign name if it was given to him/her by their birthparents, but many children are named by orphanage staff. There are programs in China and some other countries where there are "waiting children", meaning children who are over age 5 or have a minor medical condition or special need, and are waiting for a family. In that case you are allowed to choose the child you wish to adopt. But in most cases, you are referred a child by the sending country, and you are usually allowed to choose the age and gender of the child you wish to adopt. I am an adoptive mom to a little girl from China and I can tell you that adoption is a wonderful thing. Adoptive parents need to be very educated and need to know in their heart of hearts that this is their child, and love this child just as if she were born to them biologically. Hope that helps!

Well my aunt adopted 3 kids...so i pretty much know some things. K first what do you mean by adopting kids from anywhere in the world? Im pretty sure if u live in US and want to go all the way to Europe to adopt a kid i dont think thats possible so idk about that or the cost. Yes u can pick any kid you want but if the kid u want has a sibling, u hav to adopt them too. U can change the kids name and also they're last name if u want them to have your last name. idk how old you have to be to adopt a kid. and also the kid you adopt has a social worker and they go visit you to check up on the kid after you adopt them to make sure everything is ok (they tell you they're coming like 5 minutes b4 they get there). they also go to your house before you adopt the kid and you have to have all sort of security things. (ex: fire extinguisher) hope i helped :)

1.) No not anywhere in the world only those countries that have a foreign adoption policy The restrictions and stipulations have made it more difficult to adopt foreign children. The cost is variable by country. A healthy child from Russia or Guatamala for instance would cost approx $35,000 between agencies, flights, time spent with the child etc. and the money to the governing country. Yes, you can pick the child once approved and all the red tape is completed (which is a process)
Naming is your preference. Age, there again it depends on the country. By age, economic factors, age of child and degree of disabilities all play a part.There are many agencies in the telephone book you can contact to get all the info you need. Just a suggestion, there are many children right here that need families.

Just because a child is available for "adoption" in a foreign country, doesn't make the adoption legal, or moral.
