Two years ago I ran into an Adoption Reunion Specialist at the state library. Talking to him was one of the most interesting conversations I've ever had on human behaviour.
My answer to you is YES. The reason why, from what this guy told me, is that adoptees are often consumed about finding their family. So, the sooner you can achieve that, the sooner you can move on and think about other things too.
My suggestion is to find an Adoption Reunion Specialist because he/she can drastically reduce the time it takes to hunt everybody down. This guy, for instance, volunteers his time as a hobby.
He told me that a woman was searching for her mother for over 20 years. He found the mother in one day. It's not that he's a genius, it's just that he knows where to look.
Also, sometimes you have to get a birth certificate or a baptism certificate to find things out. Naturally, these damn places are like Fort Knox. But, he knows how to approach the people and get the information.
It's astounding how much information can be found at a state library, in hospital records, in church records for weddings, in obituaries, and in microfiche newspaper archives. Etc.

Sure! Finding my natural family was one of the biggest events of my life. It is not a perfect reunion (few are) but questions were answered. |

WOW 21 siblings, thats alot of people to find! If i were you, i'd start right away, you never know how long it will take you to find that many people! I'm sure are in contact with others, but still, thats alot of tracking and one great reunion, can you imagine? all of you together for the first time... good luck!

well i'd talk to your parents about it ( your adoptive parents) first, i'm sure they won't have a problem with it, but they'll respect you for talking to them about it. if you want find them and miss them then i say go ahead and find your other family =] |

Depends on if you are happy in your life... I searched out my half brother 3 years ago only to find him a low life who mooched off of me for about 6 months before I cut him off. If life is going well my advise would be to leave well enough alone! |
