Anyway YES he most certainly does. Henry Morgentaler has been a voice for woman all over Canada regarding their reproductive choices.

All over Canada he's spent millions of dollars fighting the provincial governments for woman to have the right to choose. He's been well known in areas such as New Brunswick where woman dont have the accessability to abortions to provide them at no cost to the woman or the governement.

Hmmm, I have mixed emotions about this.

I am pro choice, so obviously I believe that abortion needs to be an option for women.

I also believe that he has made great strides for women and their right to choose. His clinics have kept women safe from butchers and he has put himself on the line to do so: death threats, jail sentences and so on.

My problem with him receiving the Order of Canada is that his motives were not completely altruistic. His clinics are a business to him and he has made quite a bit of money, which means that he had a stake in helping women.

Does the fact that he was running a business make his efforts to keep women's reproductive rights intact any less sincere? I don't know.

I'm conflicted on this one.

He should not receive such a high honour. He is not an honourable man, being responsible for murdering untold thousands of babies.

No. It was given by a corrupt advisory council, not on a unanimous decision as required by the constitution of the Order of Canada. It is opposed by the majority of Canadians. It was allegedly for his "humanitarian" and "health care" work. To refer to Henry Morgentaler as a "humanitarian", a person working in "health care" or even a "doctor" is to lie (for the politically correct read "stretching the truth").

Wake up people. That picture is abortion. That is what it is all about. No amount of bleeding heart mentality is going to change that. Bravo to those who are returning their Order of Canada medal. Thank God there are people who have the courage to stand up for what is right.
