I don't usually watch it, it is too stupid. I'm more of a Ghost Hunters kind of girl, yeah, that's stupid too, I know.

IF they are even for real, I guess if they are not beating their kids or supplying them with booze and drugs, then they do have a right to raise the kids they give birth to. Just because people act in ways in which we might feel are a little "off" or different from us does not mean they don't deserve to parent.

Now, if there's abuse, neglect, etc. going on, then NO, they don't, just as in any situation.

I'm sure there's plenty of people here who don't think I should be raising my kids, lol, but I assure you, I reserve all my piss and vinegar for my loved ones here on YA. My kids get all my sugar and honey.

What we see on TV is probably not a true representation of their lives anyway.

Um, Der. They're STILL the mother to those children. I don't care if she was impregnated by an ALIEN, if she gave birth, she has the first say about raising her child aside from cases dealing with extreme emotional or physical abuse/neglect.

Of course they should! Those people provide good, solid entertainment for people all over the world (interesting little note: I had a friend in Holland once - he was American, but married and settled down there - and he informed me that folks in Holland actually believe that people on JS represent the average American...nice, huh?).

I think focusing on education is needed in this country, no doubt.

Just because someone is trashy or poor doesn't make them less of a better parent. Look at all the religious nuts adopting children, that can be just as harmful emotionally, if not worse. Look at all the people today killing in the name of some make believe God.

Edit: Look at all these parents that are putting down people on Jerry Springer that are trying to be their child's "friend" instead of a responsible parent. I think giving your daughter "breast implants for their sweet 16 or graduation", is a quite disturbing trend.

I watch it but no they shouldn't be parents. Most of the people up there are low lives. And they shouldn't even be aloud to have kids. I could understand if you got pregent and you end up not being able to take care of him or her. There are people every day giving up there child but I would rather see someone give him or her up then not have money to feed the baby, or have a roof over there heads, or what ever the issue might be. Some women get pregnet and the guy they get pregnet by start treating them really bad. And leave them. Then the girl doesn't know what to do because she can't do it. These women are in my prayers.
