Taking our baby out the country for vacation.?

Taking our baby out the country for vacation.?

I have a 7month old with my husband(from another woman) She is not involved. She signed over her parental rights to my husband. She also signed a consent for adoption and a waiver of appearance for court. I have not adopted the baby yet.My husbands name IS on the birth certificate. I was wondering if we could go on our vacation out the country. We have no contact with her since she signed the baby over to us. Do we need her permission since she signed over her maternal right?

When my youngest was born, in Canada, we were living in India at the time. We had just come back for the birth. Anyway, whey my daughter was 5 weeks old we headed back to India. It was no problem at all traveling out of the country. Just get a passport for the baby and as long as your husband is there with you there will be no problems. She signed over her rights and even if she didn't, he is the child's father and the custodial parent so he has the right to travel with the child.

I would recommend that he have a notarized letter stating that you can travel with the baby JUST IN CASE something happens and you have to travel with the baby alone.

You should have no trouble as long as you have the birth certificate and adoption papers.

Just remember, even an infant needs a passport to travel out of the country.

In order to get a passport for a minor, both legal parents need to sign the consent form. If the adoption isn't final, you probably cannot give consent for the child to get a passport.

Yes, I believe you would need her permission, but I'm not sure. Check with the US Post Office or look for passport applications requirements.

first, there is no such thing as signing over parental rights to someone else. He already had parental rights and she does too. she probably just let him have full custody. You will need her permission or signature to take the baby out of the country. just like when you go to adopt the baby, her parental rights first need to be terminated in court.

Not sure, but it's not a good idea to travel out of the country with a 7 month old baby.
