Teacher adopting student?
|
Well, my parents are willing to give me up for adoption sometime....soon, I suppose. My teacher, who I'm pretty close to, seem to make a pretty good parent for me. So I'm thinking maybe my teacher can adopt me. I won't say exactly why my parents would give me up but I just want to know if this is allowed with the permission of my parents. Additional Details Heh, you're all right, it does sound like something from that Matilda movie. But i didn't get the idea from there. Out of honesty, this was just out curiosity. My parents, don't really care though & they're pretty intolerable. I'm giving second thoughts, since I have 2 more years to go till I'm 18 & legal to leave the house.

Sure, if your parents are in agreement and they relinquish their rights.........but have you formally recruited your teacher...or are you in the early stages of planning??

Oh so loved!

First of all how old are you? Go get emancipated! I'm curious as to why they would put you up for adoption at this point. It's obvious that you are not a young child. And one thing you need to remember is that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. |

Yip. But you need to talk to lawyers. |

Your teacher would have to actually consent to this, for one.
For two, yes, with all of the proper paperwork filled out this could be arranged.
And it does sound an awful lot like Matilda. |

This does sound like Matilda.
But in case this is real. Yes. As long as all the proper adoption paper work was done. She could.
But you know the teacher has to know about it aalso. :] |

Does you teacher want to adopt you? |

Just about anyone who qualifies and who wants to adopt you can do so if your parents are willing to legally sign away their rights. Mind you, by the time it gets that far you will most likely be 18 or more anyway. |

My mom adopted her former student and her two siblings two years ago. My sister was 11 when she met Mom and she's now 16. Granted, she was a foster child, but what you do for a living or whether or not you personally know the child(ren) you're adopting has nothing to do with whether or not you can adopt them. In the end it's up to you, your parents, and your teacher. |
