Please keep in mind that I am only 15.
I want to have my own kids in the future, so I am NOT trying to put anyone down for wanting their own kids. However, I also want to adopt. I plan on having 2 kids and adopting 1 or 2. what do you think of my reasoning below?
Think about it, there are SO many babies being born in this world. Unfortunately, a lot of babies wind up going into adoption homes. So would you rather bring more babies in this world or basically save the life of a child or two?
Bq: Would you feel comfortable knowing you are rasing somebody else's child?
Bq: Would you want your child (if you adopt) to feel like you are their real mother/fater or would you rather them feel like you are their aunt/uncle or a family friend?

Newborn adoption does NOT save childrens lives, there are literally dozens of PAP's available for every newborn who becomes available. If you want to help children who need homes and families, adopt from foster care, those are the children who's parents have lost their rights. Newborn adoption is a coercive practice that is little better than baby trafficking. Parents should be encouraged to parent their children, not to surrender them to PAP's, simply because those PAP's want a newborn and the agency wants to make a profit. |

I used to have a similar opinion when I was about your age... but once I met the man that I am going to marry, I decided that I want our children to have a part of him within them. |

When I was your age adopting wasn't something I wanted to do I always wanted my own. I knew three of my 2nd cousins were adopted (same parents) through IA but at the same time adoption either on a personal (family) level or generally was a subject that never arose. Two yaers later I found out a school friend had been adopted but again never really discussed even though she was in an unusual situation for the UK that hers had been a closed adoption but her parents had been okay about her having contact with her natural mother around this time.
I agree that there are many babies being born in this world but I completely disagree with you that a lot are adopted. I have nothing against children being adopted when it's in their best interests but generally babies don't need to be adopted and should be raised by their mothers. I don't know the exact figures but in the UK there were more than 700,000 births last yet and of those only about 3000 - 4000 were actually adopted. So in fact only a tiny fraction of the babies born in the UK were actually adopted.
In the kindest possible way you really do need to educate yourself on adoption and the reasons behind why it happens. |

There are more than 40 prospective adopters for every one healthy infant. The idea that there are abandoned babies by the score is misinformation. Give yourself time. Adoption is not the heroic action many think it is. You're not rescuing an infant when you adopt...you are filling a need of your own. If you need to care for the unwanted, have your own babies and rescue a pet from a shelter. |

hi i totally agree with you im currently bout to get custody of my brothers baby when it is born becuase him and his girlfriend are no0t aloud to keep the baby they have already had 2 kids taken away when jasman gets older me and my husband would explaine to her that she has 4 parents 2 that created her and gave birth to her and me and my husband and that we all love her very much there will be no point in time that jasman will feel that his birth family dont love her.
jasmone will have alot of contact with her birth family and will never not no them because i think that would be wrong to her. |
