Want to Adopt a Baby and don't know the best way to go about it?

well some people that i know adopted a child, and as well were so overwhelmed with options...they talked to a church and was able to adopt within a few months

Stick around here and listen to the stories that are told by all sides. Being educated is a top priority, at least it should be, for anyone looking to adopt and the stories here are worth a million in books.

But as said, education is the key, and stories on here are worth a million.

Your baby will not stay a baby forever, and your entire family needs to know the score on possible (probable) problems that occur.

People who are adopted have issues, and the best way for you to minnimise them is to listen to us, and hopefully avoid the same pitfalls with your family.

Contact your local foster care or social services and tell then that you're interested. They 'should' give you some advice on what the legal issues and the rigmarole is.

Personally, I know people want a baby, but foster care adoption really is the best way to go.

Look at all the options, and be honest with yourself, what will work for you and your family.

as someone else said foster to adopt threw your state is great for the children!! I am growing threw it right now and even with its ups and downs it is rewarding and we are helping with the children.

I know many people in your situation.
They chose to adopt pets to fill the void of not being able to have children. This is the best route to go.
I would hate to find out that I was placed up for adoption because nobody would help my mother and then face that my adoptive parents adopted me because they couldn't have children and wanted to make a family to fix their needs. I would feel so used as well as hurt that nobody cared to help my mother.

I would avoid animals like "monkey's" thats just crazy, dressing them up like dolls. It reminds me of some a-parents with IA babies.

Ask around to friends and family. Check with your church. Check with the local social services. You will find much better real world advice from people than from the internet. Especially from the people that answer here frequently.

There are great books on adoption. Check on line or at your local library for information, also check into various religious agencies that have children for adoption. Also apply to your local adoption agency and apply. Be sure to have all your paperwork up to date and accurate. It is required to have a current backround check also. You can also go through a private adoption attorney, which does help, only it can be costly. Best Wishes and Happy Adopting. All children deserve wonder parents to LOVE care and provide for them. Adoption can be very difficult on the adoptee. Becoming a parent through adoption requires a totally different emotional process than just deciding to become a parent. You have to be willing to become whatever your children need, instead of asking them to fulfill a hole in you (because no child but YOURS can fill the hole of not being able to conceive, and it's not fair to give any other child that job).
