But there is a problem, though I don't have any kind of record. My husband and some prior experiences with family services, and an assult charge that got dropped. He was awarded full custody of his children and has come a long way. we are a loving family but were in fear that his past will haunt us when applying to be foster parents. Any thoughts?

The only way to know is to apply. If they have a problem with it, they will deny you for foster care. Honestly, all types of families are needed, and they will look at the entire situation to make a decision. |

If the charges got dropped then I wouldn't worry about it. You could contact a social worker at your local health and human services to ask before you go through the 8 or 9 weeks of classes to become certified. Good luck and have lots and lots of patience!
