We are interested in adopting. How best to direct a birth mother who has chosen adoption to our web page?

Women who are currently pregnant and looking for adoptive parents might search the web. What is the best way to direct these women to our web page to learn more about us as potential adoptive parents?

Hi there, I too am an adoptive Mom and would love more then anything to adopt again. I have to warn you about trying to match up with a potential birth mom on Yahoo! Answers though. I thought there was great potential to meet someone here. I even went ahead and explained all the clearances I have to complete, the homestudy update and psychiatric evaluation, the financial evaluation, the child welfare and criminal clearances. This is done for everyone who adopts here, I believe. Atleast that is what I did when I adopted the first time. I took the time to explain all of this so that if someone was considering adoption for the baby they are carrying, they would feel safe about contacting me and know that I have been and have to again be fully investigated prior to adopting. Anyways, I was attacked on several occasions by people who accused my of "trolling" for birth mothers on here, and told that I was being inapproprite. So beware if this is what you choose to do. I still think the internet is a wonderful way for people to connect. I met my son's birth mother on the internet, we did a private direct adoption and things couldn't have gone better. So, I know it works. Just know that there are people on here, who like to have all their negative comments and hurtful and discouraging words posted, even though the situation has nothing to do with them! With all that said, I wish you the very, very best of luck with adding to your family through adoption. Parentprofiles is a popular website. If anyone is interested in emailing me, please feel free to do so and ask any questions at all. I can be contacted at jen1204ca@yahoo.ca

i would NOT recommend going to message boards for birthparents who are contemplating adoption. as a birthmother, i found it insensitive for prospective parents to solicit and bombard bparents with requests and offers over the internet, no matter how innocent their intention (i'm not refering to you though). i would suggest using your url as a signature, which is less invasive. someone else suggested parentfprofiles..but above all, i would suggest going through an agency.

You should go through an agency that shows your profile. I don't know of anyone who would search for parents for her baby on the internet - you never know who you're talking to.

But you have to have a homestudy before you can use it. If you haven't gotten one yet, find a social worker here- http://home-study.adoption.com/
I wish you and your family the best!

If you have a Craigslist in your area, you could put a posting up there. Other than that, when I chose a family for the baby I adopted out, I went through an agency. (That can be expensive, though)... worth it if you want the baby's mother to feel secure that she's placing her child in a good home!

this is a question from earlier she is looking for adoptive parents

I have twins on the way I am looking for an adoptive couple, the last couple recently backed out because I refused to use their agency. If you can do private adoption in your state please email me. Looking to do closed adoption, Im in California.

BPD Wife
I would recommend contacting a local adoption agency. If you are looking to do a private adoption, you might want to call a few GYN/OB offices and see if they would let you post something (even if it's the back of the ladies' room door). You might also think about (and this will sound crazy) but one of the grocery store boards. Anything is worth a shot. You just need to let everyone you know that you are looking to adopt also. That is how we met our biological family - a neighbor knew them.

Good luck to you.

You have to use some psychology on this one, because I know many birth mom wouldn't appreciate direct aproach, just try to be a little sensitive to the potential birth parents.

PLEASE go through an agency to save yourself ALOT of hearbreak. I am presently giving my child up for adoption and have run across many woman refusing to use agencies because they do not get "extra" money . Do it the right way and legally get an agency and a lawyer. DO not go the website route you will get alot of riffraff as I have seen already on this page, Anyone weary to go through an agency is prob looking for money sorry to say. Why would you refuse to go through an agency as a birth mother??? Think about that. Don't let your need and desire for a child blind you to the scammers out there..GOOD LUCK !

Hi there

There are lots of agencyies out there that can help you.
I am 6mnths preganant and looking for a adptoive family to
have my child as want to help people but like my self i do not
really want to go through an agency.

You have to be honest to the birth mother on what you want and that you are great parents to take the buddle of joy on.
