hey i just wanted to know if anyone out there knew any free sites to search for your birth parents on,i was adopted and would like to search for them. i found one site its adoption.com or .org and i posted in There forums but if any one knows of any other site i would love to hear it!

There are a couple of things that can help you find your first parents. You'll want to sign up with the International Soundex Reunion Registry at http://isrr.net. It is the largest reunion registry.
You'll also want to get what is called your non-identifying information (non-id.) It often contains good information and clues. All adopted persons are entitled to receive it. Depending on the state in which your adoption occurred, you may also be able to receive other information and services, including your original birth certificate.
Follow this link and click on the state in which you were adopted to find out more about the information you can access in your state of adoption, along with how to get it. You will also find some other good search resources.

Honestly there is a section on myspace that you can post and search for loved ones! I know myspace kind of sounds lame but you gotta think how many millions of people actually have one now and how many of them might know who you are looking for! Might as well give it a try! |
