Using the Adoption Registry: Natural parents, adopted adults 21 or older, adopted adults younger than 21 with the consent of their adoptive parents, and natural siblings 21 or older may use the registry. Adoptive parents, adopted adults, first parents, and natural siblings may exchange updated medical information throughout the life of the adopted adult. The registry also may act as an intermediary if either party does not want to be contacted. All parties also may exchange pictures and written statements through the registry.

ISRR.net is by far the largest and most succesful registry. Others to try are:

Don't rely on registries alone, though. Enlist the help of people who know the ropes (see gsadoption registry for links)

adoption.com has a registry that you can browse through. If he registered there, you could find him and contact him. Do a google search for "adoption registry" or "adoption search" or "adoption reunion" and you will find a lot of sites like that. I think adoption.com seems to be one of the better ones but look through all of them because you never know which, if any, he may have registered on.

The state I was adopted in also has a registry through the state. It works about the same way: both parties (biological families and adoptees) need to register if they're interested in contact. If so, they will let both know. I found out about that by calling the capitol in my state and asking to talk to someone about adoption records.

I don't know the exact site I used when I was searching for my birth mom. However I just entered a few registry's I found off a yahoo search. And no I didn't get instant results I was devistated when no was no match. Well with that being said 11 months later I came home one day July 17th to be exact and there it was an e-mail that said your my daughter. Yes I entered the site but she found me. The searches I did were free that was a few years ago and now it seems like they want to charge for everything but there still are free sites out there. You can also look in the yellowpages site and enter in the name and do a search that way. Good Luck my heart is with you
