1. They are confused about the parents. Both sets
They want to know why the bio parents did whatever it took to get them taken
Then they are not sure if the foster parents really care about them at all.
2. They are confused about the families.
Not sure why a family member didn't come get them. Their grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, someone that knows them.
Not sure if the foster family members accept them or just tolerate them during holidays.
3. Sometimes they do and say things to try to love of the foster parents. They may tell them that they hate them and want to leave to see the reaction. They may lie and tell them that life was better with the bio parents.
4. Once they are secure with the unconditional love of the foster family, then they have to deal with the emotional ties of the bio family and wondering whether they have to chose.
Foster children go through quite a bit emotionally. I am sure I haven't listed them all, but they need a lot of patience and understanding from everyone involved with them, the foster family, county workers, schools, etc. The only thing we can do is show love and support to them unconditionally. That is what helps. I hope this helps the asker. |

i would say yes they fear not ever belonging to a family that they did something wrong for the reason why they are in foster care they want to know that they do belong that they are loved no matter what |

Depends on their asge and what foster home they get into. their are some that just want the money and then there are some that do it for love of the children.
But all I have saw want to go home no matter now bab it was. It takes them time to trust again. Most go on with life because that's all they have.
What I feel sorry for is when they get 18 or have aged out they are out even if the foster mother wants to keep them longer they aren't alowed to keep them if they have other children this is a sad fact. And most have been and out of homes to many to count.. Sad way to keep these abuse children |

I know when I was in the foster care system, I felt like I wasnt wanted, not loved, worthless. You go through alot. I know for me it was hard bc my sister had gotten adopted and so did my three brothers. The foster home I was in that adopted my sister I thought they were going to adopt me but they didnt and thats when the hurt begins. You feel ashmamed. Then my parents who adopted my brother adopted me. Even then, I still felt like I was nothing. But I was able to over come that when I relized, that I was loved and wanted |
