What did you give your lost child this season?

That their adoptive families could not?

My son's former adopters gave him 21 years of physical and emotional abuse.

I gave him all my love and NO abuse.

My son's BM gave her lost child a skull fracture, 2days in a snow bank, 7 months in a hospital, 4 years in an orphanage, and a pile load of baggage!

My MIL-who placed a child 48 years ago, and had been reunited a few years ago, told her oldest in the house child that she was fine and would look forward to him reuniting with his brother. My "J" had reunited this year, and the sister did with the mother. So, he got another brother this year.

His step-daughter, who because of her father's refusal to allow him to adopt, was never able to have the adoption go through (Georgia doesn't allow adult adoption), then she changed her name the year she turned 18 to his, and made an adoption certificate herself, and adopted him.

This year, he officially got an adopted nephew.

But the most important thing is because of the reuniting, he got love from all of us, reunion, and he grew up in a wonderful home, with loving parents, and has a very healthy respect for adoption.

I think the best gift a birthparent can give their child is simply the right to know who they (the adoptee) are by giving them the chance to know them and who they are. When I say that I mean that we deserve to know the truth surrounding our birth and where we come from no matter what it may be. I'm 27 years old and should know where I come from. I wonder who gave me a thumbs down. I imagine it was probably someone that does not want to reunite or meet with the other party.

My mother sent me a letter which I didn't read. My adoptive mom gave me $100 which I'll probably spend on my kid. My adoptive father chose to ignore me and my kid this year over an argument he started but I finished, and I can't help to think he wouldn't do that if I weren't adopted and thus he feels no bond with me and even less with my kid, and to tell the truth I don't think of him as my kid's grandfather anyway, he's always been abusive and continues to be.
