for the second comment. I don't agree with you. I believe they want their stories told about what horrible things happened to them back then...just like trying to get a crime for rape or murder. They just want justice. Nowhere on this website did I see anything about trying to convice people that this is how adoption works now days. We are much more sane now than back then.

I disagree with the second answer. It may be more subtle nowadays but the infant adoption industry has some disgusting practises IMO

It may have been many years ago but those people, the adoptees and the mothers are still alive and kicking and affected by what happened.

And it is these mothers whom people are telling us searching adoptees that 'gave you up for a reason / don't pry into her life' blah blah blah; which is self-serving BS from insecure people who don't care one jot about adoptees or their mothers. The facts are that the vast majority of mothers want to know what happened to their babies. It's so not over.

I admit I didn't read every story, but 100% of the stories I read the adoption took place at least 30 years ago. So to say that all adoptions today are due to coercion and tricky is quite a HUGE leap. Things are different now than in the 50's, 60's, 70', 80's and even the 90's. In my opinion this blog is a sorry attempt at proving that all birth mothers are tricked or deceived into giving up their babies. It is someone using way out dated information to prove a point that can't be proven with current data.

I guess I wasn't aware that SW were still prowling the maternity wards trying to trick new mothers into giving up their babies. I must have been still drug induced when they visited me. Or maybe they didn't visit me because I did not contact an adoption agency before my baby was born and make an adoption plan. Lucky for me they didn't come and trick me into a drug induced desicion that goes against the plan I made for my babies when I was coherent and could think rationally.
