Only rarely is medical info updated, even when the information is urgent. So far, I personally don't know of a single case where medical information was forwarded to either the adoptee or the a-parent. They will TELL you that they will send it immediately, but it appears never to be even put into the file. |

Four years ago I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. It was found because after years (22) of searching I was reunited with my birthmother. I have also inherited the heart condition which killed her. Medical information isnt updated. Even in this day and age where we are well informed of the links between genetics and some illnesses, children of closed adoptions are being put at risk in the name of secrecy. |

For my baby son, I gave the doctor what I had. As far as any update, they only ask for normal age-appropriate information. |

There is NO 'updated information'. Adoptees are second-class citizens who others have decided do not deserve that information. |
