My wife and I are Fostering twin girls, that we are thinking of adopting. My work offers adoption assistance, am I allowed to use that money to buy a bigger car, or is the money only for legal fees? Please only answer if you really know what you are talking about, this is very important to us, Thank you in advance for your time and help!

It is to cover adoption related expenses after the adoption is finalized. We had to submit receipts to be reimbursed. What you do with the money afterwards is up to you. I would make sure you submit all your receipts even if it goes over the limit they will reimburse just in case they deny any charges.

I know in our case, my employer offered 7k in expenses but they were very specific about limiting it to natural mothers medical and living expenses, legal fees, and court costs--all of them had to be backed up by receipts and verified.
