I looked at it and DON"T like it. I can see an adult adopttess or adoptee rights ribbon, but the adoption ribbon just feeds into all the other warm and fuzzy stereotypes of adoption. |

I've never heard of it either.... I don't think it's anything widespread - perhaps someone has come up with this idea that they're trying to promote and it may catch on but I personally wouldn't wear it. Why should I honor adoption when losing my son broke my heart? |

Purple or white ribbon (depending on who's site you look at) = adoption awareness
Personally, I much prefer the green ribbon for OPEN RECORDS if your are looking for an adoption "awareness" ribbon! (Most people are pretty "aware" of adoption itself.)

I long ago started to wish that Tony Orlando had not written that song.
I even saw a transparent ribbon made by a military spouses group to represent the unseen strength behind their soldiers. It used to be made out of cellophane and now it's clear molded plastic.
Nothing against the causes at all but this ribbon stuff has gotten carried way to the point of being ridiculous. |
