I think very few people are actually "coerced" into giving up their child. They may have a little help in making the ultimate decision but it IS their choice in the end.

Giving up your child is your decision and is legal.

Having a child kidnapped is illegal and immoral.

PhilM
One is against the law.

The other should be.

SJM
In one instance, the police take a report and the county attorney files charges. In the other, government offers a tax incentive. This distinction, of course, is superficial. In reality, they are not mutually exclusive.

One is legal (unless the first Mom has a really good attorney and can prove it) and the other is not. But BOTH are morally offensive.

Philippa
Both are as bad as each other, only difference is one is legal the other isn't. I wouldn't want to put my worst enemy through either having been through coercion.

Dalton's Mommy
Coerced is when someone talks you into signing the papers usu with force or guilt or blackmail or money.

Kidnapped would be without the mother's knowledge. No papers signed and if they are found and you can prove it you may be able to get your baby back
