weird. i was super nervous.

when i met her, it was kind of anti-climactic.

she wasnt who i thought she'd be. in some ways this was good, in some bad, but i figured out she was a human being who had made human mistakes.

20 minutes into our meet though she made reference to herself as my mother, and said something like "listen to your mother".

my reaction was not positive. i let her know that. she then got major attitude with me.

we havent spoken since. my mother is the women who raised me and cared for me.

Awkward, but worth it. Rare is the reunion that is 100% happy or 100% miserable.

There are many adoptees who had a bad or awkward reunion and than try to convince other people not to reunite or at least have a very negative view towards reunion.

And, its not about whether the adoptive parents are your parents or not. Its not as if meeting your biological parents means your adoptive parents are no longer your parents.

I wouldnt reunite with my birth parents. I dont feel the need. I have my parents. my mom gave me up for a reason. I dont need to know that reason. My life with my adoptive parents is my life. I love my parents as if they were my birth parents and dont find a reason to reunite.

I reuinited. Glad I did as would always had questions. Has not been a good experience for myself as birthmother--or am I called a breeder?
