When and if you met/meet your real mom, what did you want to know?

I am in the process of finding out and I think the thing I would most want to know is why I was given up. But I think I know the answer anyway as she was very young when she had me and in those days in was a no no to be an unwed mother. :)

I would want to know why she placed me for adoption, if I look like her, if I have brothers and sisters and my medical history.

What 'almost human' said - I really couldn't have said it any better - and for so long I would have kept those deepest words hidden - as too many people in my life and in society in general just didn't want to know what my heart truly wanted to say - deep deep down.
Those words go to the heart and the soul of it. They hurt to admit it - they hurt to say it out loud. But they need to be said.

The first two things I asked her -- in this order, the order they mattered to me -- were:

1. Are you okay? Meaning, have you grieved, processed, healed,...etc. your loss of me? (I guess it should have been, but it was never a question to me that she wanted me. Right or wrong, I *knew* she wanted me. I never doubted it. I was right, incidentally, but I should have been prepared for the alternative.)

2. Who is my father?

I got both of those answers and I've asked her a million things since then. I don't know, besides those, what else is/was/will be important to me.

I did want to say...and want to know...what 'almost human' and Possum said.

ETA: I was 30+ years old when I met my Mom. That's what I asked her in real life. What I would have asked her if I'd met her before (or possibly after) that time -- I'm not sure I can say. It would most likely have been different, especially if I'd been younger.

I wanted to know so much when I met my n-mom, unfortunately she had little to say, except disjointed small talk. i try to get all the info from my n-dad, but I want to know everything, but mostly things like...what was it like to be pregnant with me? what did you think? what did you expect? what would have been my name? why did you break up with n-dad? and really all of the questions that would help me know "who are you?"

Its actually my bio dad. But he found me only about a month ago and i really didn't have anything to say (not in a bad way) i was just stumped! The usual things then came to mind.. why now and not when i was a kid? why couldn't you be a part of my life? Etc. All those things that i was just curious about, with no hard feelings towards him, because i was raised by a loving step dad.
