in my experience, yes. they also offered to pay for food, maternity clothing, and any other pregnancy/baby survival items, but i declined. i do not believe that is common practice though.

depends upon the agency you use and the terms of the adoption, but it is a common practice.

Sometimes, but many agencies try to get expectant mothers on their state's maternity Medicaid program, if they are low-income and uninsured.

To avoid being coerced by having expenses paid, I suggest any expectant mom get on maternity Medicaid herself, most who would consider adoption due to financial reasons will qualify for it. The less money she takes from the adoptive parents, the more freely made her choice can be.

Yes, this can be arranged. That is one of the reasons adoption is so expensive.....the fees usually include support of the expectant birth mother.

When my Aunt and Uncle adopted they paid for the birthmothers’ medical expense. Even (willing) gave a monthly allowance for food, had a phone line put into her house. They even had to pay for a hotel during her last month of pregnancy. She lived out of State but came to their state to have the baby.

If you have a family already picked out for your child and they want then yes. If you do not have a family alread or talked to an agency for adoptions then you will have to good luck.

I guess it would depend on whether you were using an accredited agency. We are a couple who are desperate for a baby, we tried ivf and were deliriously happy to find out we were expecting, but I lost it at six weeks, my misscarriage was last week. I have just been looking on line at adoption and it seems incredibly difficult. Are you planning on having your baby adopted ?

It is dependent on the type of adoption that is being done. Sometimes medical expenses are included with a private adoption. Typically, with adoption agencies, as someone mentioned earlier, the agency will help the biological mother get set up with medical assistance.

If you are considering an adoption plan for your child, contact a local adoption agency. There is usually no charge to the birth family whatsoever.

Good luck to you.

this can be arranged in some cases. it is also possible that you can get state sponsored insurance. in California most birthmoms that don't have insurance can be covered by mediCal and the adoptive family doesn't pay medical expenses. the family may pay other maternity related expenses such as clothes and help with food and rent.

our daughter was adopted in Georgia and we did pay some medical expenses as well as some maternity related expenses.

depends on what agency you are involved in

In a private adoption, through a lawyer or facilitator, that is often the arrangement, if the birth mother has no insurance. If the adoption arrangements are made through a licensed agency, the adoptive families often pay indirectly--all families working through the agency contribute equally to a birth mother support fund, and necessary expenses can be paid from that fund.
