Unfortunately, children aren't something that you "browse" and buy because you're bored and want another child, especially when you're admitting that you don't have the space in your life for one. For those who are actually seriously considering adoption and are ready for the responsibility of adding another child to their family, you can contact an adoption agency. You don't get to "browse" through children though and pick the one that you think is the cutest.

I will have to agree with txinchin word by word. Please do not "browse" for kids like they are a commodity. Apply for adoption with an agency if you are serious.

You mean like a Sears and Roebuck catalogue of adoption?

God that's sick.

Go to the animal shelter if you really want to browse the shelves and save a life.

before you even begin to look for a child I would suggest going thru the process of finding out what it takes to adopt. It is a long process with lots of paperwork, meetings, background checks, in some states classes, home studies, interviews, medical exams, sometimes mental health evals. And I am not sure if your reasons for wanting to adopt would be acceptable.

Why don't you sponsor a child through world vision? Its something you can do with your kids then.

I've never heard of "browsing" through a website for a child to adopt. (only to sponsor in a third world country) Don't you go through social services or something like that?

It might be a good idea to wait until your children are grown up more and then look into fostering kids when you have the space and time to give them. It sounds like you have a good heart at least.

AmericanGirl.com has some great pictures and catalogs if you are looking for a toy! Wait... you are looking for a child? Shame on you for even trying to base this on looks. If you are Truly willing to adopt, you will be willing to take on any child, no matter what.

"i m really not even sure where wed put another one i don't want to have anymore"

what a way to make a kid feel welcome. ewwwwwwwwwwww.

Call your local library. Ours has a book of children available for adoption through the foster care system.

Is it like a catalog? Yes, it is. But if even one child finds a loving, permanent home because someone like you browsed through a catalog, then the world will be a better place.

the website adoptuskids has children that are in the foster care system in all states.

"Browse" ?! Urgh I just had a flashback of a nightmare I had as an adopted kid - babies on shelves being "browsed" and either picked out or rejected as inferior.

I think there are about 140,000 children in the USA needing homes - I'm sure you could "browse" through those on your next shopping trip.

try googling "american adoptions" or australian or whereever youre from. adopting domestically is much better because with foreign adoption the mother can still change her mind until the child is one so you can't get a baby

adoption.com has some great info. if you really don't want to have anymore why don't you send money in monthly for a kid?

REEZO
Most states have a DSS page that has a link to the adoption area. These pages usually have pictures of children waiting to find new homes.

Best of luck!
