Ok our foster son (we have had him since two days old he is two months now) had first PC hearing yesterday it was continued because not everyone was served. Meaning not everyone was made aware of the hearing and given a chance to show up.
Mom has disappeared since birth and they have only talk to her once. This is her 11th child and she does not have custody of any all rights have been taken. Because of her history they moved for early PC. Dad is in jail and her family are already taking care of the other children and said they can not take anymore that is why he is in care. who are they waiting to make aware of the hearings? who is left? Well i gues dads family but from my understanding the county does not want any of them to have him either.
How much longer before PC is taken and we can adopt him

Change the numbers of children from 11 down to 7 and your question could have been written by my wife or I. We went through EXACTLY the same thing. You just have to remember that it's in everyone best interest to have them ere on the side of caution. It could be as simple as waiting to serve a relative or two of the father so that nobody can come back in later years and claim that they were not notified and they should have been. We just had to go with the system and it worked out...I'm sure it will for you too. |

I agree with elefee...Even if they don't want the child to live with the other relatives, they need to cover all bases. You don't want relatives showing up later and contesting the adoption because they were not given a chance to respond.
I know it is frustrating, but they are making sure to cross their t's & dot their i's.

your situation sounds a lot like what my husband and i went through while waiting on TPR trial.even if the state does not want that child with the dads family they still have to be given a chance to show up for court. in our case none of either families showed up so they just TPR the entire family on both sides. i hope in your situation it goes the direction our case did. Best of Luck. And i know how frustrating this is so you will be in my prayers. |
