But adoption agencies that prey on pregnant women who, for whatever reason, lack support or finances seen as good, or even wholesome?
Is it still the "bad" girls (who get knocked up without proper support) versus the "good" girls (who can't get knocked up) but who either have a man, money or both?

IMO! Because the adoption agencies represent the 'victims'...which of course is not the pregnant mother. Just this evening I was reading research material on adoption and adoptive mothers..some of this research was old, some newer. I gleaned from these readings, seems adoptive mothers are 'thought' in general by society as 'victims'...i.e. they are 'victims' of the betrayal of their female body failing to reproduce, 'victims' of their natural female aging process, 'victims' of the feminist movement (being made to believe that careers should come first), 'victims' of the Infertility Industry. So what I took away from that vein of research...those wishing to adopt would be entitled to 'victim compensation', i.e. a natural mother's baby. Enter the 'compensator', the Adoption Industry...only too willing to find a way to 'compensate' the 'victim'.....for a price... a quite hefty one at that. |

Because society will always perpetuate myths that people really want to believe. People WANT to believe that adoption is for the best. They WANT to think that children are better off with pools and big backyards. It's pleasant, easy, and convenient for them to believe this. |

I am adopted. I had a positive experience and am glad that my birth mother made a responsible decision. I think that voluntary adoption is a good thing, a wonderful, great thing actually, but I do know that there are some predatory international adoption agencies that practically take away the babies from their [often African or rural Chinese] mothers involuntarily, and that should me stopped. |
