Why would anyone have my question about bio siblings?
|
.......deleted? I asked.....what is the best age to talk about this with an adoptee and it wasn't directed at anyone in particular?
Was it because I used the top two suppliers of babies/toddlers as examples and the strong probability they have siblings?
China......and its one child policy that many Aps claim is the reason for an abundance kids. They can't keep the second or third one.
Guatemala .....where on average Mayans have at least 5-6 children. Additional Details Linny....your forgot to add beer drinking cannibal....lol.
Mk.....sorry but that episode was so disturbing it had me laughing so hard....especially watching the reaction of the psychologist rolling her eyes. TY for the congrats.

I didn't see the question but if it was like almost ALL of your previous questions, it was likely insulting to adoptive parents. I'm surprised that more of your questions don't get deleted. |

Seriously??? Wow. This will probably get deleted, too, but I have to wonder just who is in charge of deleting questions and answers here in the adoption section, and who is determining just exactly what "violates" the community.
Time, after time, I have seen answers and questions from adoptees, f Moms and a p's who are pro adoption reform deleted, yet the questions/answers from those who continually belittle us are left up.
Hmmmmmmm. I know- the truth hurts. |

I didn't see your original question but what your wrote here is interesting. Most international adoptees probably have siblings somewhere in the world. Wouldn't it be great if they could all be reunited? |
|

IDK!!
|
Because they don't like you...... I actually thought it was a great question with great answers...... it's not something many people even think about. 'I' was/am a forgotten sister.... |

I don't know, Indy. My 20/20 episode about extreme parenting question got deleted too. (Congrats on your baby again, BTW!) I still can't figure out why!
There are some people out there who can't stand for other people to challenge their views or talk about things they deem uncomfortable or whatever. Reminds me of people who ban books.
Censorship and control. Kind of a metaphor for the real adoption world, huh?

Because this place is looney and people report anything they don't like.
It's sad that there are so many cowards around. And I am beginning to believe I know who they are....as I have seen some nice trends in reporting and posting.
So sad. |

It's crazy, YES? It's happened to me twice. I challenged both deletions & had one reinstated. The most ironic thing is that one or both questions had been asked by an AP to adoptees. I just turned the question around, asking AP's the same question from their perspective.
If I remember right the questions were deleted b/c of an allegation that they weren't questions and/or I was "chatting".
Be careful when responding by name to those who've answered your question. This can be viewed as "chatting" by someone who's got a bug up their nose about you.
It takes 2 people to complain and your question is gone automatically.
DO challenge it! Then at least a human person reads the question and makes a decision. You're also letting the Y!A police determine who are "trusted reporters" and who may not be!
Good luck!
ETA: It's funny that the insulting or baiting or flame starting questions posted by AP's aren't deleted. But we "bitter adoptees" who misbehave by telling our stories, expressing our opinions, sharing our experiences & occasionally getting frustrated or sarcastic have OUR questions deleted. Even when they are the SAME question posted by an AP but turned around. HMMMM?!! |

Who knows around here? I have had questions and answered deleted and have no idea why. I don't understand how an answer that just states my own experience can violate the TOS......but sometimes they get deleted.
you can always challenge it, I know that works for some people getting their question/answer reinstated. |

You must have hit on a nerve and they reported you... but yeah, there is no logic in the way questions and answers are deleted in this place.
Oh, I didn't know you were pregnant? Congratulations :)

I don't know why your question was deleted.
My daughter has 2 half siblings. I worry about how she will feel about it. In my daughter's case, she wasn't parented, quite honestly, because of her "special need". So, obviously I'm sure she will have feelings of being "not good enough" to be kept. Anyway, as far as the sibling part, she has a photo album of her biological family and foster family that she has always looked at, so it will never be a shocking reveal, just something I'm sure conversation will emerge about over time. (She's only 3 now.) I will try to help her understand the cultural stigma, medical access reasons making her biological parents unable to raise her and making it necessary for her to be adopted internationally. We contribute to organizations such as Love Without Boundaries and Wide Smiles to help make things better for babies/children in the same position as dd was and she perhaps can gain a sense of control by participating in that as she gets older.
Also - re: China - the one child policy that ap's "claim" is the reason children are available in China? Are you serious? Can you honestly believe the one child policy has had nothing to do with the availability of children from China? It has been the reason. And the fact that people are becoming more prosperous, making it a status symbol to be able to afford to "pay" for a second child in China or to be able to afford to not have a boy to care for you in old age is the reason abandonments are on the decrease (but still very much a problem, especially in rural areas).
ETA: After reading other answers, I see Congrats are in order! Congratulations on your coming baby!
Again, I didn't see the original question. Appeal. It's never worked for me, but maybe it will for you. |

You must have shaken up some emotion from somebody. Perhaps you put a shadow of a doubt in their mind and that is just NOT acceptable! Me's thinkin' I can guess who the people were though, and I'm sure you do too! |

Some people want to continue to live in adoption la-la land. For many the truth of their own unethical adoptions makes it impossible for them to do anything but parrot the lies that they have been told by the adoption industry. Facing the truth is gut wrenching. |

I remember reading that question and thought for once you have posted something that ACTUALLY does NOT insult AP's and i thought it was an interesting question. It was an actual decent question and did not deserve deletion .
Far better than some of your Walmart buying kids and Infertile people eating human body parts question. |

IMHO; it's because your answers are mean spirited, most often irrelevant, tangential and your not part of the adoption triad. |
