Oh I don't know, I guess being taken from my mother & father and sent to live with strangers when I was an infant kind of irritates me.

Having my birth certificate altered and the original one "sealed" so that I cannot see it kind of makes me angry.

Being treated like a doormat by people like YOU who "know someone who is adopted" when you have NO CLUE what being adopted is REALLY like, kind of makes me angry.

If adoptees are angry about being adopted, don't you think there's something wrong with adoption?

I mean if the people who's lives were affected the MOST by adoption are angry about it, then wouldn't that make you want to stop and think, hmmm, they have lived it, maybe they know what they are talking about?

Oh but I suppose you want to keep the dream alive so that you don't have to consider that the child YOU adopt might feel the same way. Am I right?

since you have deleted your questions, I have no idea. It could have been your wording, your desire to have someone's infant, your thoughtfulness regarding adoption, etc.

Some adoptees are angry/hurt about their experiences. They have every right to discuss/debate/air their greviances concerning adoption. If you want everyone to agree with you and your opinions, this is the wrong forum.
Adoption means the permenant severing of the relationship between a child and his parents in most cases...that is not a good thing. Sometime, rarely, it is a necessity.....again, rarely. If you want to adopt, adopt through foster care....where there are at least some ethical guidelines in place and where it is not supposed to be about profit or quotas.

It could be because people keep asking adoptees why they are so angry. It tends to make you angry after awhile.

Whether an adopted citizen likes or doesn't like the life s/he had with his or her adopted family has nothing to do with the state discrimination that continues in 44 states. Being treated unequally under the law should not be a part of being adopted. However, it is a part of being adopted in those 44 states that have taken from adopted persons the right to access their own birth records, just like all non-adopted persons (including persons relinquished for adoption but not adopted.)

Being relinquished for adoption does not result in discrimination by the state. Having a legal status of "adopted," however, does in 44 states.

I am adopted and I am quite happy with my life. I love my parents and I am thankful everyday that we are in each other lives. Not everyone is negative.
