Yes they will let you adopt as you well knwo as an RN you have to have a clean record to keep your license and I assume a cop the same way. Adoption process just depends international longer domestic may be shorter since you are young but girls in generally longer wait. If you do domestic I would mention in your letter how you are a nurse and you can be good with the physical and emotional needs of the child as that is part of your job. Same with your husband probably has some psych background too. That's what help us get chosen as per the birthfamily. Good luck in your journey

it depends on the agency......any criminal records?

Your age is not an issue as long as you can support the child. The length of your marriage and relationship may be an issue.

If you are doing a private adoption, it is up to the parents if they choose you or not, but the agency will approve you.

For foster care and adoption it is not an issue at all.

I'm an adoption social worker. I do not give preference to infertile couples...that is not true.

A lot of agencies require you to be at least 25. Make sure you ask around friends who have adopted to get recommendations for reputable agencies.

If you guys are married and in a stable home and relationship then I dont see vvhy they vvouldnt let you. Just talk to an adoption agency about vvhat steps you need to take to make an adoption possible and if you fit the requirements. All adoptions are different so no one can really tell you hovv long they take, some people go through the process for a year before they actually get there baby but all agency's are different. Good Luck!

I wouldn’t see why not grant it adoption criteria can vary from state to state and even agencies. I don’t think you and your husband would have trouble locating an agency that would work with you. Also you would not need documentation that you can’t have a biobaby. Not just infertile couples/people can adopt. Grant it some agencies may favor infertile couples but that is not going to be the case for all agencies.

You will just have to research and look at different agencys and see what they require see if you all fit that criteria and if you feel you want to work with thus agency. There are some places that don’t allow you to request gender. If your going with a private adoption then that simple comes down to the biological mother and or Father picking you to be their baby’s new parents.

As long as your adopting from the states i don't think your age will be an issue. Now if you were going to adopt from a diffrent country many foreign countries want the PAP to be at least 25 sometimes older , like China their minimum age is 30 for both parents.

It depends on the agency yes this is true. It also depends on how open you are. Infants are the most sought after adoptions and man nowadays have their adoptive families chosen by their birth mother. If you are financially stable and everything you should not be denied adoption though.

It depends on the agency as far as age but the do want you to be married at least 3 years. If you attend church, try seeing if the know of any church sponsor adoption places. The process can take 2 to 5 years depending on the birth Mom. It took me 10 months the first time and 2 years the second

You can always try....then you will know. If your to young then you know when you can apply again. Good Luck and bless you for wanting to adopt

yes they will. You both sound mature enough to look after a baby and have good careers and a nice house. Apply for adoption- you have nothing to loose! It can take 6 months to adopt so its better to start as soon as possible.

I don't think your age would prevent you from being able to adopt a child. You both have a steady source of income and a house that would allow the child to have a room of it's own. It can be costly depending on where you want the child from. As in the US or overseas.
Hope you the best.

It isn't necessarily about how old you, and as long as there's one bedroom for a child it isn't usually about the size of a house.

One thing that can be a factor is how long you've been married. At 22 you aren't likely to have a very old marriage. That could be a factor.

Another factor can be whether you know you can't have children yourself, or whether you have no reason to believe that. Couples who can't have babies themselves are generally favor.

A big factor is how mentally/emotionally solid someone seems to be in the screening process.

You should call a few adoption agencies and/or your state's social services adoption people, and just ask them. There's no harm in asking.

If you have medical documentation that you cannot have a child and if you have been married at least 5 years, they may. The only way to know for sure is to speak to several agencies. Have a prliminary meeting with them, or just go by the office and ask for flyers on general info about the agency and their requirements.
