Would love to adopt and need some help?

Lost and don't know where to turn and seeking some advice. I am a 43 yr old female living in New Jersey, soon to move to Florida who has so much love and is financial secure. I have RSD which is a nerve disease, I contacted an adoption agency looking to adopt and b/c of the RSD they have said I can not or that they would not work with me. If you were to see me you would look at me and see nothing wrong b/c it is with the nerves. I have 3 grown children 24,22, & 19 they grew up in a loving home, had everything and anything they ever needed or wanted, I was very active with them and anything they were involved in. After having my youngest I knew in my heart that I wanted more but he was an emergency c-section and my husband (now x) signed for the doctor to cut/tie/burn my tubes so I could no longer become pregnant so that is why I have to look to go this route. Does anyone know of an agency that is not so harsh. I am just lost in knowing where to go. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Additional Details
I am sorry I should have mentioned that years ago when my children were younger I did do fostering and wanted to adopt 2 children that were in my home, but the bio-mother would not relinquish her rights. After that happened I realized that fostering was not right for me. Although these kids need a loving home to be in, it is just too hard knowing that they can leave your home at any time. and I also understand that offering and giving kids in foster homes love even if for a day or a month etc. gives them hope again it is just an emotional area that I would just rather not put myself and family through, or the children that is why adoption is the best avenue for me. And it does not have to be a baby, nor does it even have to be the same race as I am. They are not things that matter to me. As far as IVF b/c of the RSD I am not able to do that, other wise I would have. I appreciate every ones feed back I really do appreciate it. Keep it coming please

Yes, I have a suggestion. Adopt from foster care. The children in foster care truly NEED homes and loving families. There are thousands of kids in foster care and adopting one of them would benefit the child AND you.

ETA: I understand your fear that a child you foster may go back to his or her biological parent(s). That would be very difficult for you to go through, even though it is best for the child to be with his or her natural family as long as the natural family is capable of proper parenting. So I'm not discounting your fears. I adopted through foster care and I know what that's like. But if you really want to help a child and not just adopt because YOU want to, foster-to-adopt is the way to go. You could ask that any child who is placed in your home be "legally free" -- meaning that parental rights have already been terminated. There aren't as many kids who are legally free as those who aren't because most states are unwilling to make the children wards of the state, but it does happen. Just something to think about.

I am not certain, but I think most agencies are that harsh only because they can be with so many people wanting to adopt. Do you only want to adopt a baby? There are a few routes you can take:

1. Become a foster parent. Sometimes it leads to adoption.
2. Adopt abroad. You will not meet such strict requirements.
3. You can still do IVF with a tubal ligation. Your eggs can be retrieved and fertilized. The resulting developing baby would be placed back into your uterus and voila! You've got yourself a baby. (stupid ex for signing that without your consent, seems wrong)

Good luck!

I also agree with aloha - adopt from Foster care - or simply just be a foster parent. These are the children right here living in your area who NEED a home and someone to love them unconditionally~!

I agree with Aloha Girl. This link to the Florida DCF may provide the information you are looking for: http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/adoption/

If you wish to provide a loving home to a child who truly needs one, foster to adopt may be the right path for you.

Foster care or Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

Even if you would like to adopt a baby, you could look into foster to adopt programs in your state. Many times you would foster a baby who is most likely going to be free for adoption. Have you looked into international adoption?
