Would this be something people would be willing to help with?

I am just wondering if/how this might work. The bio mom of our daughter wants her son to come stay with us this summer so that the kids can have time for together. The problem is the plane ticket. My sister is willing to fly with him over here but the cost of those tickets is a problem. Do you think people would be willing to donate money to such a cause? If so where would I go to ask? And how would we go about making it secure?

Thank for the REAL answers. Both kids are toddlers. I guess I should have added that this also to help her out. She struggles, which is the reason for the adoption in the 1st place. I looks like the answer to my question is no, which is fine just wish people would leave it at that. Thanks again.

There are buses and trains. This can happen if everyone works together.

I would say no...there no fund-raising for this kind of thing. There is budgeting though. Good luck.

I would say plan it for next year and in the meantime have a large family rummage sale---ask for items before the sale as lots of people have things to donate to a worthy cause in your neighborhood, Do a bake sale and think of other things that you and the little boy's mom can do to make the money.

It's a good thing for your daughter to have a solid relationship with her brother. It's your job, as her parent, to make that effort, because it's what's best for her. For both of them, really.

You have a kid but you can't just cut some luxuries for a while and save up? Have you looked at train tickets or greyhound bus tickets? If you're really living paycheck to paycheck... then why the heck would you want another child living with you for ANY amount of time? This certainly isn't a worthy cause... it's a luxury. I suppose you could sit on the street corner and beg.

What about if you both drove to an place that is half way between the two of you. Maybe you can get of the plane ticket all together.

i dont think so tell her bio mom that you cant afford it so she would have to pay the plane ticket
