do you have to go through an agency to adopt?
Find answers to your legal question.

do you have to go through an agency to adopt?

My husband and I are wanting to adopt a baby but don't have 20,000 to do so. We wanna have a family and are not able to conceive, but that much money is just not in the budget! We were wondering if we found someone wanting to put there baby up for adoption if we had to go through a agency?

No, you don't have to go through an agency. You can just find a local lawyer to go through, then you will only have to pay for legal fees, medical fees and (legal!) birthmother expenses. Depending on the situation, (how much medical and birthmother fees are) it can be a lot cheaper. Hope that helps.

Nana to 1 and 1 on the way
No you don't have to use an agency. There are plenty of places online for private adoptions. However, you will need to pay for an attorney to make sure all paperwork is proper and legal.

i know you can do private adoptions, but all adoptions are expensive. i would say, call a lawyer that deals with adoptions and see what kind of info you can get from him.
