okay i am 20 and pregnant with my 3rd child. i never wanted 3 children. my sister cant have kids so i told her i would love to help. i could give her this baby that way that baby would have a good life, and my sister would have the baby she has always wanted. well the other day i was over her house and saw her husband smoking pot. well that isnt anything new for him to do, but my other 2 small children were there with me and this got me thinking, will he do this around a baby, i mean he was in his room, but my kids were still there. and if someone turned him in the baby i said that i would give my sister would go to who knows where and i may never see the baby again. i only agreed to give her the baby cuz i knew she could better provide financially where i cant. and also because that way i can still see my baby grow up. i told my sister and she knows i still might keep the baby, but idk what to do. she deserves a baby but i dont think that the husband will give up his drugs, even when the baby is there, and i dont want to not know what happens in this babys life. if i have the risk of losing this baby forever i would rather keep it, but i also want to see my sister happy and have a baby of her own. what should i do?

Don't give the baby to a druggie. Don't give up the baby, period. You shouldn't risk giving a baby to someone like that.
I'm sure a child would prefer less toys to having a drugged out father. Which do you think would be more damaging?
ETA: Your sister might "deserve" a baby, but you are not responsible for giving her one. |

If you can't bear giving this baby up and never seeing it again, then don't give it up at all.
Trust me. Financial situations are only TEMPORARY!
If you truly want this baby, keep it. |

Your sister isn't making good parenting decisions by staying with someone who does drugs in front of children. She isn't making children a priority. That would be of GREAT concern to me.
Social services wouldn't approve a placement in this situation...why would you?
Your sister needs to grow up. No one deserves another person's child. But she isn't even working towards making herself ready for one. |

I know you love your sister but it doesn't sound as if she is ready for children even though she may want them. you may still choose to give your baby up but pick a better parent, otherwise I think you will more than regret your choice later. Also, just wanted to give your baby up because you didn't want 3 sounds like a reason to give yourself heartache later. Your young, money is tight and I get that but you can survive it and look back on with happy thoughts. |
