my brother in law lost his daughter to the state and me and my husband want to adopt her to keep her in the family but there telling us we need a relainship with her to adopt her help anyone please any comments or suggtsions whould be vary helpful.

i agree, contact a lawyer.. get in touch with social services as well.
my aunt recently went through this exact situation. my uncle's niece lost her daughter to the state and my aunt and uncle adopted her. they had never met her before, had zero relationship with her or her mother for SEVERAL years (the baby was a year and a half at the time, almost 3 now), but because they were her closest known relatives they were granted. they have been in a probationary period for a little over a year now, but the adoption is almost finalized.

You will need to work this out with the state. The court has gave the custody of this child to the state so you don't stand a chance without the approval from them. See if you can have visitation. check to see if you can be licensed as a relative foster home---here relatives watch 2 videos and do All the other requirements as required by law. There is no way to skirt the issues---attorney or not. |
