but you can always change it when you turn 18... |

No, no you don't. Your parents chose it at birth and if adopted those parents will choose the new one or leave it the same. You don't get to name yourself. |

The person that looks after you, or the new people who adopt you will get to choose your name. However, there are always options to change your name when your older. You can still change your name even if you aren't an orphan. |
