I am British living in the U.S. and the only site I can find with info on renewing my passport says it will cost $197. This seams high to me. I am wondering if I am looking in the right place for passport renewal?

Actually, its almost always the deparment/ministery of Home affairs/internal affairs that will issue, deal with, and revoke passports.
Passports can be expensive, but I think that you are perhaps looking at the wrong place. That does seem a bit steep. Try the Home Office website, or more specifically, a division of the Home Office called the UKPA (United Kingdoms Passports Agency). See source. They will give you an official, and final price. |
