For a person 25 years or over, parent's advice is no longer needed to marry in the Philippines as provided for in the Family Code.

I just got back from manila I was visiting my girlfriend there. The man does not need the advice or consent from the parent it is the woman that needs the letter. Fiancee Visa's work fastest but sometimes there can be problems if you are not careful don’t rush when felling out the paper work ...good luck I am going though the same thing now.

You are over 24 so you don't need parental consent to get married in Manila. Go for it.

The phils has the same laws as vietnam, so I know exactly what you are going through.
ok this is right up my alley.
No such thing about parental advice. All you need is to take many photos at your wedding. However you do catholic thing, their may be some things you need to do in your respective churches.
The 1-130 visa is the spousal visa. This form will be sent in the moment you arrive home after your ceremony.
You will be mailed a receipt number that you can check daily on USCIS.com also do email or phone them once a month to make sure all is well.
Of course keep all your photos, letters, emails, wedding items because in 6-14 months she will have her interview.

Dont use the fiance visa, trust me I know. mine failed and I lost 1 year of my life waiting. That is why we then did the spousal visa. The waiting time is shorter and rarely does it get denied.

I understand what you are going through. Please email me anytime. Also go to USCIS.com for all the info on the forms and fees.
Remember, dont hire a lawyer when filling out the paperwork. Do it yourself, its not hard, just be thorough

You will have to go to the US Embassy in Manila to obtain a
'Certificate in Lieu of Legal Capacity' If youhave been previously divorced, bring along a certified copy of the divorce decree.
Pls make a photocopy of this certificate, as the Embassy destroys their copies after one year and might need it later on life:
children's birth certificates, permanent residence in the Philippines etc.
Then take this certificate and the birth certificate of you bride(must be certified by the National Bureau of Census) and your passport to the City Hall of the town where you are going to be married. They will issue a document allowing you two to be married. Then you must wait for ten days before you can get married. If you don't wait for this time period, you marriage would be invalid . Once you have your contract of marriage, request the civil registrar to make a special submission of it to Nat'l Bureau of Census, so that you can abtain a certified copy within about 7 days. You will need this certified copy later to obtain a visa, passport etc. Hope this info will be helpful

Parents' Consent (for 18-21 years old) or Parent's Advice (for 21-25 years old): Under Philippine law, the legal age for marriage is 18. If the contracting parties are between the ages of 18 and 21, they must present written consent to the marriage from their father, mother or legal guardian. While any contracting party between the age of 22 and 25 must present written parental advice, i.e., a written indication that the parents are aware of the couple's intent to marry.
