Aplying for British Pasport?

Apologies if this is not the correct section.
Additional Details
after living here for 10years (working, paying tax, contributing to the economy) we can now apply for a British passport. We have done our Citizen tests and passed and will apply asap.

We were just wondering, how long (approx) would it take?

And please, if you have nothing to say, don't say nothing at all. Yes I wasn't born here, but I have worked harder and payed more tax than many of those born here!!

I am a full british citizen and it took me 6 weeks so would set aside 8-10 weeks conservatively, just make sure you get absolutely everything correct in your application because even a slight mis-spelling will delay it.

(I know from personal experience when the counter signitory spelt my name as "phillip" when the real name is "philip"...

You have to complete the application form very carefully. A checklist for the required documents will be there. Read Notes 9 through 12 given in the application form. Read section 11 "Declaration" and ensure if Section 10 is applicable to you for dependents entry. Pay for appropriate fee. Photographs with white background, without hat or glasses (One photo to be certified on the back).
Ensure accuracy of the provided details, spelled out correctly. If produced documents are in order the processing time will not exceed 9-10 weeks. It depend on workload in the issuing office.

if you start working here year 2000, you get permanent resident only 4 years and charge you Â£250 then if your single. compared now its expensive and you must be resident here for 5 years. no test that time. once you got your permanent resident you can apply for british citizenship , once approved, ceremony then passport.{sorry, just wonder why you waited that long before u apply} anyway,,,, now you passed the exam, you apply for british citizenship, fill out their application and you need to pay Â£625 u have to wait 3 months, once approved will send you letter to attend british ceremony then once u got your certificate u can apply for passport... just go to the website of home office uk.... will explain to u everything.
