I know that USVI citizens are naturally granted US citizenship. But I can't find information about citizenship of those living in the British Virgin Islands. Someone told me that all Virgin Islands' (U.S and British) citizens are granted U.S citizenship. True or not?

United States Virgin Islands are a group of islands that are a possession of the United States in the Caribbean. U.S. citizenship was granted to the inhabitants of the islands in 1927.
The British VI are not part of the US and people born there are not entitled to US citizenship unless they are the child of a US citizen.
British Virgin Islanders are subjects of the British crown, and British Overseas Territories citizens (BOTCs). The British Overseas Territories Act 2002 also conferred British Citizenship upon BOTCs (other than those solely connected with the Sovereign Base Areas of Cyprus) which does provide for a right of abode in the United Kingdom. This conferral is in addition to their BOTC.
Right of Abode confers the following rights:
* an unconditional right to live, work and study in the United Kingdom
* entitlement to use the British/EEA immigration channel at United Kingdom ports of entry
* Children born in the United Kingdom to Right of Abode holders will normally be British citizens by birth automatically.
* entitlement to apply for United Kingdom social security and welfare benefits
* as all Right of Abode holders are Commonwealth citizens there is a right to vote and stand for public office in the United Kingdom
On 21 May 2002 any BOTC who did not hold British citizenship (except those from the Sovereign Base Areas) automatically acquired it under the British Overseas Territories Act 2002. Those acquiring BOTC after that date are entitled to register as British citizens under s4A of the 1981 Act. |

Yep as far as I know, BVI people are not automatically granted the right to live in either the US or the UK.
Unless they go through the normal Immigration procedures for each country. |
