I'm USA. Hubby Swiss. Applied 2 wks ago. (passport expired) We're going to Switzerland nxt month. (Hasn't seen family in years...) Followd all rules exact, called (make sure all was good order) Said he'd get passport in 4-6 wks. Yesterday's email:
"Following up your recent visit, your sending of new pictures as well as your phone call, please note that this representation will be making an exception by processing your new Swiss passport and ID-card application before your marriage has been duly registered with the competent Swiss authorities. Since you’re documents regarding the duly registration of your marriage were claimed twice (on 05/10/2002 & 02/26/2007) and your Swiss passport already expired back on 05/10/2007, please send me a written request justifying your urgent request for a new Swiss passport (to be issued before the inscription of your marriage has been confirmed)."
Been all over official sites. WHAT is grounds for "justifying the urgent request"? PLS TELL ME IF U KNOW.

I don't see anything anywhere in your question that states that you do have any type of urgent request justification - just lack of planning. Not the answer you want to hear, certainly, but why would you expect any government to accelerate a bureaucratic process to meet your personal needs? Especially when there are many true emergencies that need to be responded to, such as medical crises and fatalities. |

you really do not have a valid urgent request,
since you have to prove your request by documentation? you will not be able to get one,from either by a doctor, is the only one i can say,
real hardships a health matter, near death,health care(urgent)
hospitalization,
sorry, i have no other answer,
now it will be up to you to find that urgent request, since you asked for a passport, with that reason,just hope you get your passport in time. |

And you did not find a Swiss Consulate in your neighborhood?
Maybe ask US authorities for visa to Europe. Rail to France side at Geneva, car across border.
Worked for Matt Damon in Bourne Identity. Well, he had lots of passports to choose from, after being consfiscated.
