Are there procedures to disaffirm one Singapore Citizenship?

A foreign minor may gain citizenship through his father or mother, or by birth. When he or she becomes age of 22 he must take oath to continue eligibly for citizenship. There's no dual-citizenship allow in Singapore. And the Certificate of birth must be given back to Singapore government but I will like to know if there is any other procedures to required terminate the citizenship?

A small correction to your statement:
The Oath of Renunciation, Allegiance and Loyalty must be taken by a minor upon attaining 21 years of age and before attaining 22 years of age.
As for the renouncement of Singapore citizenship, according to the Singapore Constitution, Article 128(1), one can only renounce her citizenship when he or she of or over the age of 21 years and already obtained a citizenship of other country.
For the proceeding, you may approach the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) or Singapore foreign mission (if you are not in Singapore). They have the renouncement form for you to fill-up. The application is subject to the Singapore government's approval. |
