British nationality.?

I am male with a UK passport, born in England. my mother and father.... grand parents, great grandarents ect. are also English. I live in spain and my daughter was born here in 2001. I live with a French woman and my daughter's official Nationality is French. We are not married. But I am legally the father of my daughter
What is the age limit for my my daughter to become a UK national, as with the new French 'Sarko' governament...it might be useful for her to have a british passport as well!!!!!
Several times I have got the 'forms' from the British embassy...but the laws change all the time ( married/not married) and its seems to be quite expensive. Plus the forms are as usual very complicated....( Like why didn't you register your daughters birth with UK embassy in the first 10 days ?

A child born outside the UK on or after 1 January 1983 will automatically acquire British citizenship by descent if either parent is a British citizen
~only one parent needs to be British otherwise than by descent - either the father or the mother.
~an unmarried father cannot pass on British citizenship automatically in the case of children born before 1 July 2006.
~Although if the parents marry subsequent to the birth the child normally will become a British citizen at that point if legitimated by the marriage and the father was eligible to pass on British citizenship
~failing the above the child can be registered as British if it would have been British if parents were married and application is made before the child is 18.

Surely if you have a UK passport you can take her to England and register her there and get a passport with her name listed on it.

i too, and my children and grand son have dual citizenship,
if the rules were that you could only register your child with 10 days? how in the world could all the parents transfer their heritage to their children?
just register yourself as an UK citizen living in Spain, and then register the birth of your daughter ,
she cannot be refused her birth rights;
my children were NOT within the limits of 10 days, nor was my grand son,one was way past that time, so was the grand son,the kids were way over 16 years of age,

there no limit , and Sarkosy the President has nothing to do about your daughter's dual citizenship, that is a total different subject.
and ? she will have spanish decent by being born in the Spain,
mind you? it did not cost us a penny,
you might have some registration fees, but i did not ,
each country its law,
nothing that will break you,
you need you birth certificate, your companion's, and the child,
i had to have my original birth certificate,
pictures for the child ,
it is not that bad believe me.
be patient and just do it .
and no, you do not have to pay in order to get your daughter's UK citizenship, it is a service that your country does for you .

There's no time limit to get her a British Citizen.
