If he has arrested record, and was charged for domestic abuse [fight with wife) and also plea guitly in USA (he was put into prison for one day, and was fined for $600 then was released), In DS-156, one need to answer question like" have you been arrested?".
What type of documents should I prepared for the visa interview to explain this?

He needs to answer "yes" to the question about him being arrested. The chances of him getting a visa are small. |

Not sure, that is up to the US State Department.
Simple assault is not a CIMT, so it will not cause an automatic refusal, but it will need to be explained, and you might be required to show court documentation of the outcome of the case.
From the nature of your statement - is it one arrest or two? If it is two separate offenses, it will probably be an major issue. |

Arrest isn't an excludable reason. A conviction may be. If he paid $600 and was in jail for a day, it sounds like a misdemeanor, not a felony. Be truthful with the criminal record stuff- you can't dodge it because someone will run a criminal history check.
The part that sounds risky is this- are you sure you want to be associated with a guy who's already hit one woman? Be careful. |

You have to answer yes, and that will make him be denied, the INS is really cracking down on spousal abuse. I would be very surprised if he is given a visa |
