Can I get a Passport without being naturalized? PLEASE HELP!!?

was born out of the US both my parents were as well but they are now naturalized both citizens now
what can I do to get my passport without having a citizenship?
I heard that I could get an Affidavit for proof that I was born by my mother, that I could get a passport through that without getting a Citizenship
I need to get a passport within about a month
I need it to take drivers ed
I already paid the money for it and its non-refundable
is there anything I can do?
I can still take the drivers ed course
its just I can't test for my permit without one of the following:
U.S. birth certificate -which I can't do being born out of the U.S.
Valid Immigration ID(green card) -mine expired about 2 years ago(just found out about that)
state ID from my state -which I don't have(takes over a month to get one)
A different state ID, some military license or military ID(can't remember which military thing)
And finally a Valid Passport which is my only option left that might have some hope of being completed and received within a month
I really am looking for some help some good advice on what to do?

You cannot get a passport without being a citizen.
If your parents were naturalized before you turned 18, you may have become a citizen at that point. In that case, get a certificate of citizenship and apply for a passport.
If you are not citizen, you will have a valid US visa or Green Card. (unless you are living in the US illegally - which seems unlikely as both of your parents are citizens)
All of the latter are sufficient to take a driving test.
If you do not have any current ID - then you will need to get one of those before you can do anything, including taking a driving test. |

You would have learned a valuable lesson with your predicament. You learned that your green card is expired and you have to renew it, you know that you need a valid ID to take the test - which you do not have, you learned that you have to be a citizen to get a passport (which will take weeks to get if you were eligible), you don't have a state ID too.
I would take care of all the ID's and green card/naturalization stuff before anything else as this is the more important thing to do right now. |
