I live here in the Philippines, im planning to take my nclex exam in california but i dont have a US visa yet, so i have to schedule an interview.
Would the consul allow me to take an exam there
and when should be the right time to schedule for a
US visa interview after i get my eligibility?
i know theres a testing center here in Manila Philippines
but i want to take an exam there..

My mom said i'll take my exam
there so i could also visit my relatives
in California while im there taking the exam.. would they allow me?
How long is the validity of the ATT (authority to take) in California?

Since you can take the exam in the Philippines, it is not logical for you to expend all of the extra money and time in order to take it in the US - unless you have an ulterior motive. Since the Consular officers are fully aware of the reality of the NCLEX exam process and locations, it is highly unlikely that you will be granted a visa. If you are wanting to visit relatives in the US, you should apply for a B1/B2 on the merits of seeing family. |

the US will not give a visa just to take the NCLEX exam in California, since you can take it in your own country .
the likelyhood of you receiving a visa for that reason is none . |

you can take the NCLEX in whatever state you wish but you''re chances of getting a visa may be better if you have your NCLEX first. It will also look good on your US visa interview. Why wouldn't you want to have that out of the way prior to going to the US? That doesn't make sense to me? I would have much rather have taken the NCLEX before leaving Canada but that wasn't an option for me. It would have made the entire process much simpler. |
