Can I take the Foreign Service Officer Test while living in China?

I am living in Beijing and I would like to take this exam, are they administered at the Embassy or anywhere else in China. Would be cheaper than flying back to the U.S.

Yes, they give it at all the embassies overseas. Since you're in Beijing, that shouldn't be too tough for you to attend.

I certainly think the test could be administered at the Embassy
Call them or check that go to the Embassy and talk to the
staff members there,, They can send a Quarry to State dept.

You can take the written test at a number of sites in the US and at any embassy overseas (check www.state.gov for locations and times) but if you are among the 6-10% declared "passers" in any given year you will have to return to the US for the oral assessment, the second -- and more difficult -- part of the examination process.

No financial assistance is given for travel expenses back to the US for the oral assessment.
