I am a doctor on J-1 visa. Getting married in 2 months. Want to apply for J2 visa for my fiance so that she can acompany me immediately after marriage to US. Not sure if my sponsoring agency ECFMG will get me a DS 2019 form, without a marriage certificate.
If I manage to get DS 2019 form, will US embassy officers ask for marriage certificate before stamping

You and your fiance will have to be legally married before she can qualify as your dependent. Yes,you will be expected to show proof of marriage; if ECFMG doesn't ask for it, the interviewing consular officer will and the visa will be denied. |
