one of my cousin sisters is holding USA H1B visa and currently working in Microsoft. She likes to take me to the USA just for a tour and see the country 10 days trip. i wanna know can she sponsor me as she is holding H1B visa. m not blood related to that sister.. please answer soon...

An H1-B is a non-immigrant visa. Though the holder is entitled to work, INS does not consider a non-immigrant to be a permanent resident. This is the first drawback to sponsoring you.
The second is your relationship. INS allows "immediate relatives" to sponsor someone. This is usually parents, spouses, siblings and children. Cousins are not immediate relatives, no matter the closeness you hold in your country.
To obtain a visa, you need to demonstrate adequate ties to your home country. If you were the consular officer, would you be convinced that the person in front of you had sufficient reason to return? Normally this is a source of income, like a job. (Flashing a shoe-box of $100 bills is not a reason to return, merely a way to stay longer in the USA.)
On one hand, most Europeans and Canadians have sufficient financial reason to return. Jamaicans, Ethiopians and Burmese have less financial reason to return. Many other countries fall in between. Many people have documents to demonstrate their income from Mexico, Thailand, Kenya, and so forth. I don't know where you're from, but I think your best bet to spend 10 days with your cousin is to obtain your own visa. Good luck!! |

No sponsorship is possible. Temporary work permit holders cannot do anything to help anyone get into the US. Their employer, if their employment contract allows family status assignment, might help them only get a temporary dependent visa for spouse and child.
Tourists have to apply for tourist visas at the US consulate in their country. You need to prove you have round-trip plane ticket, hotel reservations, and sufficient funds for everything the "typical tourist" does on vacation. You need to prove that you will return to your own country! What do you have in your country that would impel you to return? A job to return to at the end of your 2-week vacation? You own your own home, etc? That is the toughest part. Having a relative, albeit a distant one, makes you look like a potential immigration-law violator & visa overstayer. Prove you are respectful of the law and are law-abiding. |
