My middle aged brother has some legal problems-now after all these years he wants to come back to our town, and is bringing his young girlfriend, who, claims to have 5 passports, claims to have australian, new zealand, and canadian citizenship. I did a basic search and think she is from new jersey. I've immigrated myself and know it takes at least 3 years and lots of money. From what I can tell she is a drifter and I dont want them visiting my 85 year old father. I smell a rat. What's a good inexpensive way to check if this person is legit?

It might be possible.
I know of people that have US, UK, Canada, and France (four), but I can't say I've ever met someone with five =] |

Yes it's possible. You have failed to take into account jus sanguinis. If for example one of my children (US, Irish & ROC citizenships) were to marry a person of Indian and British citizenships and have a child in Canada the child would be born with 5 citizenships and entitled to 6 passports. This is rather extreme but possible! |

It's possible to have five passports, but I don't know whether the combination you describe is legit. You might ask the consulates of the three countries for their viewpoints. |

Work out what age she is and then think to yourself she would have to be living in these countries for a number of years to gain these citizenships. Maybe your brother girlfriend is lying trying to impress you. If you wanted to find out about her. Do some background check on her in New Jersey and find out where she use to live and did she work locally etc. |
